The website was extremely difficult to navigate and find a phone number for Customer Service. Our water heater was leaking and I couldnt talk to anyone to find out if I needed repair or replacement. The only thing I got was an email request then I talked to Pissed Consumer and they sent me an electronic signature form to buy a new one only. I still havent been able talked to a repairman.

Leaking water heater

Our water heater has not been repaired yet. The repairman was supposed to come yesterday but did not come nor did he call. We have no idea when he is returning. No way to call him, either.

Worst experience ever. If I could give a negative stars rating I would. Moved and canceled my service and they are trying to tell me my last month of service was three times my normal! As in, normally, my service was $40-$50 a month, but the last month I used enough gas to deplete my security deposit, $90, and then still charge me another $47 on top of it! Really! Then, when I begin to question it, the service representative, Juan actually laughs at me! I spoke to his manager, Chris, and he says it was a cold February, as he searched for answers to explain my billing. He had no answers, except that it was a cold February. This is Florida, it does not get that cold! Do not ever use these people if you can avoid them, horrible and horrendous service, and will rob you blind, and then laugh at you! *** them!

Start New Services

I submitted a request on 2/19 for new services to begin on 2/24 because I am moving. I came home today, 2/20 to no gas. Someone marked to turn my gas off at my current address. They won't come out tonight to turn it back on and are insisting I scheduled a gas turn off for today. I did not. I have a medically complex and disabled child at home, and now have no hot water and cannot cook. They will try to be out tomorrow and are charging me to turn the service back on.

Technician arrived at home on a Saturday to remove meter for 24 month no activity. We have 30+ years of service. So his visit isnt a waste, he replaces meter and finds a tiny leak in a open air area. Turns gas off. Sunday leak is fixed but they wont come. Monday at 7:30 am Im told not today and sure which day, but it will be this week. 30 minutes on phone to be finally told theyre trying to make it today. Why is this so difficult? Since the gas is off during repair, plumber are not 100% sure of their repair. Asked first call agent where else I can go, she chuckled and reminded me that TECO is our only service. Fingers are crossed that plumber made repair to TECO standards and wish I had choices.

Outrageous time frame

Had an appointment with TECO to change out my gas meter. Missed it because the time frame for arrival was 0800-**** and I finally left my home at 1500 because I only have 1 day off a week to get anything I need to get done. They told me to call and make another appointment. I said I would do that next week. Which is today. I came home from work last night to my gas being turned off because they took it upon themselves to change my meter without my knowledge. And NOW they are requesting to entire MY home after finding out my coworker tested positive for Covid. So they will be entering my home and who ever else’s after. If there is a spike in Covid cases on the homes this tech enters just know this is TECOs fault. I want reimbursements for the Inconvenience this has caused. My daughter went to school today without a shower, and I will not be able to wash my cloths for this weeks work cycle. I can not clean with cold water, I know that I can but I am not going to put myself in the position where I have to work harder because my gas company *** me over. Called TECO today to fix this issue and had a Charlotte Lie to me about information the next rep face to me. Jeremy Is the one who changed my meter with my neighbor outside and didn’t take it upon himself to as if they could open the garage for him. I mean TECO took it upon them self’s to make this change. So don’t know why they could ask my neighbor to open up my home for them. This whole process needs to be changed. A 3-4 hour time window needs to be established. All day time windows is unrealistic in so many ways. People have lives. I’m a single income house hold that works for the US Military with unpredictable hours and on top of that I am in school part time with an 8 year old that had sports all week and every Saturday. FRIDAY IS MY ONLY DAY TO GET THINGS DONE AND TECO HAS JUST TAKING THAT AWAY FROM ME GOR TWO FRIDAYS NOW!

Never EVER call teco people's gas stating you have symptoms of a gas leak. I was in my house and I do have multiple cats. For about ten hours I was smelling some awful urine that was burning my throat. I cleaned everywhere but it wouldn't go away. To be safe I called teco gas just to make sure it wasn't a gas leak. My eyes were watery and my throat was burning. I left my house to try to feel better and called them. Within minutes the *** woman on the phone had sent fire rescue over. I wasn't home. So they thought an unconscious person was inside and broke down my door. What kind of company is this?? I told the woman I wasn't home and she never even asked me. So 911 comes and destroys my door due to redo gas horrid customer service. Now my door is damaged and I cAnt use it??!! Totally horrendous. These people are sick. I told the *** teco *** I wasn't home. They didn't care my door was destroyed by fire rescue for no reason. All over a routine just to be safe gas leak check. Worst experience and will never call again even if I'm faint I'll just say I smell a bad odor. Beware of this piece of *** company it's awful

Funny. Don't blame the gas compay, blame the fire/rescue people, but really, it's not their fault, they were just trying to help a possible victim of a gas leak. Personally, I would get rid of the cats.
